According to foreign media reports, Qualcomm issued a statement on Monday that a court in Fuzhou, China, has initially ruled that Apple is prohibited from importing and selling a variety of models including the iPhone X in China. The lawsuit was initiated by Qualcomm at the end of 2017.

It is reported that the ban was decided by the Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court. The ruling found that Apple infringed Qualcomm's debut software patents, mainly involving adjusting the size of photos on the touch screen and managing applications.

The specific iPhone models affected by this preliminary decision are iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.

Qualcomm said: "We attach great importance to our relationship with our customers and rarely seek help from the courts, but we also always believe in the need to protect intellectual property rights. Apple continues to benefit from Qualcomm's intellectual property rights, but refuses to pay."

Apple responded that Qualcomm tried to ban us from selling its products, and its illegal behavior is being investigated by global regulators and will be resolved through courts seeking legal channels.

Some analysts said that because of software infringement, Apple can make adjustments to its software to ensure that the affected iPhones can continue to be sold in the future.

At present, Chinese consumers can still buy all models of iPhone.

Apple has questioned the scope of the ban. Currently, the iPhone is sold with the iOS 12 operating system, and Apple claims it has not violated the relevant patents.
